Malaysian shares seen down next week

MALAYSIAN shares are expected to
drop next week due to a lack of fresh leads with investors taking to the
sidelines, according to analysts Friday.

“I believe the market is going
to go down... there is a lack of interest and lack of money flow,” Lee Cheng
Hooi, a technical analyst at Maybank Investment Bank, told AFP.

“The
market will be influenced by external and local factors. Most of the local fund
managers are not around (due to the year-end holiday season) and they are not
willing to take many positions,” he added.

For the week to December 11,
the Kuala Lumpur Composite Index lost 10.20 points, or 0.80 percent, to close at
1,260.



Dealers tipped the key index to trade between 1,256 and
1,270 in the week ahead, according to Dow Jones Newswires.
